These six reconstituted coral beads all contain a traditional end capping of hammered silver with an embossed floral end – a definitive Himalayan trademark.
Tribal and ethnic in every sense, these handmade beads have been crafted by the nomadic people from Tibet – a group native to the high-altitude regions of the Himalayas.
And there’s no question you can have a lot of fun with these beads which provide lots of potential for creativity for those artisans with a bent for creating amazing Tibetan-inspired ethnic style or statement jewellery – items such as necklaces, bracelets or an ankle bangle.
These unusual beads would make a wonderful addition to your jewellery-making box of special beads.
The beads are often used as currency when trading for goods.
In this collection, the six beads weigh in at about 28 grams - have been heavily discounted and now work out to cost roughly $5.00 each.
All our ethnic Tibetan beads contain a decent 2-3mm top-drill hole which is suitable for threading with round leather, Tigertail or craftline (similar to fishing line).
The accompanying photos illustrate what to expect in your order, while some images have been enlarged to show detail.
Please also bear in mind many of these beads are not new, nor have they been mass produced. They are individually hand-made and contain age-worn imperfections.
