Goldstone is not a semi-precious stone – it’s a man-made reddish-brown glass stone with tiny reflections caused by minuscule copper crystals. However, because of its consistency, it is often thrown in and classified among other bonafide gemstones.
The attractive stone is made through a process that calls for the melting of silica (sand), coupled with copper oxide, borax, gypsum, and feldspar – that will create the glass stone. Once set, bead shapes are determined and then cut.
