Himalayan Artistry – Tibet and Nepal
Here is a collection of quite old 20 ethnic-style and highly-prized Three-Eyed dZi oval barrels from the Himalayan mountains of Tibet and Nepal which promotes luck, happiness, honour and longevity.
Often dZi beads are made with agate stone – but this collection is made using carnelian, which make these dZi beads quite distinctive after an intense process of dyeing and heating.
Measuring an average 12x17mm these are the beads of wealth.
And as folklore claims, these beads are both heavenly and spiritual, as well as tribal and ethnic in every sense.
They are handmade beads which have been crafted by the nomadic people who are native to the high altitude regions of the Himalayas.
And there’s no question they can be used to create amazing ethnic-inspired statement jewellery items such as necklaces, bracelets or an ankle bangle.
These beautiful and unusual beads would make a wonderful addition to your jewellery-making box of special beads.
The beads provide lots of potential for creativity for those artisans with a bent for creating amazing Tibetan-inspired ethnic style or statement jewellery.
The beads are often used as currency when trading for goods.
The 20 beads in this collection weigh in at about 67 grams - have been heavily discounted and now work out to cost $2.00 each.
All our Tibetan beads contain a decent 2-3mm top-drill hole which makes them suitable for threading round leather, tigertail or craftline (similar to fishing line).
The accompanying photos illustrate what to expect in your order. But please be mindful that from time to time there may be some minor variations depending on availability.
Please also bear in mind many of these beads are not new, nor have they been mass produced. They are hand-made, contain imperfections and are aged-worn.
