Here we have another impressive collection of approximately 300 pieces of polished and partially unpolished Lapis Lazuli beads which must be seen to be appreciated.
Perfect ingredients for tribal-style statement jewellery.
The five strands of semi-precious stone beads in this collection include faceted, button, and chunky abstract, varying in size between 6-30mm.
For hundreds of years, Lapis Lazuli has been a prized semi-precious stone since antiquity – partly because of its natural beauty, its ‘intense blue colour, and tiny gold pyrite flecks sprinkled throughout, plus its use in art and jewellery – but also for its metaphysical healing properties. These days, they can be found worldwide and out of the far east – since they have also been used for trading.
Since time immemorial, Lapis Lazuli has been regarded as a highly spiritual stone, believed to balance energy within the body – in particular, the throat, crown, and brow chakras. The purists also believe it will enlighten one's internal and external power and will purify the mind and thinking capacities.
The majority of the world’s Lapis comes from northern Afghanistan – and these unique, rare and collectible beads have been a prized part of our collection for many years – and we have lots of them!!
The beads in this collection could be used for ethnic-style tribal necklaces, bracelets, anklets, and other jewellery-making projects.
All our highly collectible and quite rare Lapis Lazuli beads contain a decent 1-2mm centre-drill hole which is suitable for threading with round leather, tigertail, or craftline (similar to fishing line).
The collection weighs in at a little over half a kilo. Please bear in mind the accompanying photos have been enlarged to show greater detail.
