You could be excused for mistaking these beautiful blue petal-shaped beads - as high-grade Lapis Lazuli or Obsidian.
From a distance they certainly look like the semi-precious stone – but you’d be wrong.
They are carefully shaped, dyed, and polished to resemble flower petals – and have been hewn out of buffalo bone! The magic of bone beads opens up such a new arena for creativity, thanks largely to cows, camels, buffalo, and sometimes goats.
This collection of approximately 60 pieces of rounded dyed blue buffalo bone flower petals from India are great also for art and craft projects, teaching, counting, or simply for creating a stylish Boho or a Vintage-inspired piece of jewellery.
And each petal has a 1.5mm centre drill hole for easy threading. And affordable at around 0.30 cents each.
These petals are hand-made in regions throughout Asia, in particular the Indian sub-continent, Thailand, Indonesia, Borneo, and China.
