Lapis Lazuli - Regarded by Many, as a Highly Spiritual Stone
This collection of approximately 24 pieces of superb unpolished oval-shaped Barrel Cylinder (A-Grade) Lapis Lazuli beads was among our favourites to work with - and a must-have for your collection – perfect to use to create ethnic-style tribal jewellery.
Lapis Lazuli has been a prized semi-precious stone since antiquity – partly because of its natural beauty, intense blue colour, and tiny gold pyrite flecks sprinkled throughout, and its use in art and jewellery – but also for its metaphysical healing properties.
Since time immemorial, Lapis Lazuli has been regarded as a highly spiritual stone, believed to balance energy within the body – in particular, the throat, crown, and brow chakras. The purists also think it will enlighten one's internal and external power and will purify the mind and thinking capacities.
The majority of the world’s Lapis comes from northern Afghanistan – and has been a prized part of our collection for many years – and we have lots of it!!
The beads in this collection have been heavily discounted and now work out to cost roughly $1.50 each. They are often used for ethnic-style tribal necklaces, bracelets, anklets, and other jewellery-making projects.
All our Barrel Cylinder Lapis Lazuli beads contain a decent 1-2mm centre-drill hole which is suitable for threading with round leather, tigertail, or craftline (similar to fishing line).
The accompanying photos illustrate what to expect in your order. But please be mindful that from time to time there may be some minor variations depending on availability.
