Blue Willow vintage beads: For something a little different, we have a handful of oval and round Blue Willow porcelain beads that are bound to tempt aspiring beaders.

This collection contains six 20mm round and six 12x20mm oval vintage Blue Willow beads – adorned with distinctive oriental motifs.

Famous for its simple and distinctive blue and white colour scheme, the Blue Willow process was first developed by ceramic artisans in England in the late 1800s, who would import beautiful oriental motifs from China and then hand-paint those designs onto ceramic housewares.

Due to their popularity, the process quickly moved on to using printed glaze transfers – which sped up production enough to keep up with the demand.

The collection weighs 76 grams and each bead costs $4.00.

The pieces allow for optimum creativity and temper exciting jewellery prospects – with a generous 2-3mm threading hole.
