A Truly Unique Bead Collection
When Marius and Rose were unable to sell their well-established store as a going concern, they made the bittersweet decision to close the doors of their beloved bead emporium after nearly 20 years of operation. Rather than let their legacy fade, they packed up their stock and launched a brand-new online store - Margriverbeads.com - named in
honour of their iconic retail shop.
At its peak, Margaret River Beads was arguably the most well-known bead store in Western Australia, welcoming customers from 2002 until the end of 2019. (Pictured above are images of the original shop.)
Together with their sister shop Broome Beads, the two shops offered an unmatched selection: over 6,000 beads and findings, along with a stunning array of Rose’s renowned handmade jewellery. They became
essential stops for beading enthusiasts and curious visitors alike - home to two of the largest bead collections in the state.
But, as a wise scholar once said, “All good things must come to an end.” After spending the ‘noughties’ and the ‘twenty-tens’ sourcing exquisite beads and running their stores, Marius and Rose (pictured right) were ready for a sea change.
Their passion, however, lives on – online – for now.
